This is a design for a shelf railroad depicting the Tonopah & Goldfield RR in Goldfield Nevada around 1910. This is mostly based on David Myrick's book "Railroads of Nevada and Eastern California". The T&G had a stub yard, roundhouse and turntable there used by the T&G as well as the Bullfrog Goldfield RR/Tonopah and Tidewater RR. Trains on the T&T backed out from the yard for the trip to Beatty and beyond. Gold mine hoists and ore bins were all over the place at this time. The Las Vegas and Tonopah RR has a separate yard but crossed the mainline of the T&G . I envision this as a shadowbox shelf layout attached to my garage wall by a HD shelf system. Bright lighting and VERY desert scenery. Staging yards in blue represent Tonopah and Mina to the north and Beatty, Rhyolite and Ludlow to the south.
